The solar eclipse of 12 August 2026 was a total solar eclipse, which was visible in its entirety along its path in parts of Spain and Iceland, amongst other places. In Austria, however, it was only partially visible, with around 90 per cent of the Sun’s disc covered by the Moon.
To take this photograph, I headed to the Wanglspitze in Tux at an altitude of 2,420 metres. The high vantage point provided an unobstructed view of the low-lying, partially eclipsed Sun.
