This is now the third time I’ve taken on the Andromeda Galaxy. You can see older images here. As every year, a slight improvement can be seen again this time.
Our neighbouring galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy, is a large spiral galaxy in the constellation Andromeda, about 2.5 million light years from Earth. It has a diameter of around 220,000 light years and is known for its imposing spiral structure with spiral arms, a bright core and many nebulae. The Andromeda Galaxy contains several hundred billion stars and is the brightest galaxy in the sky.
