On 14 March 2024 the Moon was about 25% illuminated, in its waxing crescent phase. Its low illumination allowed a clear view of the structures on its surface, including craters, mountains and lunar maria. These details were emphasised by the grazing light, while the rest of the Moon remained in shadow.
